Bishop Trail

The Bishop trail was tougher than the Hemmant Trail because some parts were steep. Fortunately there were ropes that we could hold on to secure footholds or else we would have to go on all fours to climb some of the slippery slopes.

We had to concentrate on the trail here because one wrong step would send us rolling down the slope.

This was the start of the Maxwell Trail. We had wanted to explore this trail but it was closed.

Bishop Trial - Flowers

We took our time to complete this trail because we wanted to devote our attention to the plants and flowers around us. We also took our time in photographing our finds enjoying every moment of of our endeavour and taking note of the particular features of these plants even though we did not have a clue what they were.

Bishop Trail - Starting Point

This trail starts a short distance from Silverpark Resort where we stayed and ends at the Muar Cottage. The trail is 1500meters. It had well-maintained huts where we took shelter from the intermittent rains. While these shelters kept us dry, they could not protect us from the leeches that latched onto our shoes while we waited for the rain to stop. At the first shelter near the entrance to the trail, it started to rain. Forced to stop before we had really begun trekking, we had time to take in the surrounding nature and were rewarded with this vine or root that was covered with bunches of oval-shaped fruits. I've never seen anything like this and time passed quickly as I experimented with the various settings of my camera to get reasonably clear shots without the use of the flash.
